One Couple. One Moment.

One Choice.

Me and my wife, Ebun, early in our marriage — before that night.

A few years into our marriage...

One night, after a heated argument left us both drained, I stormed out of the house, sat alone in my car, gripped the steering wheel, and just… broke.

I looked up and whispered to God:

“This isn’t what I prayed for.
This isn’t what I promised on our wedding day.”

The truth is, we hadn't fallen out of love.

But life got heavy.

An international move.
Early parenthood.
The pressure of building a life together abroad.

Before we realized it,
we had drifted.

I was there physically,
but inside?

Lonely.
Frustrated.
Emotionally exhausted.

The questions kept coming:

“Am I failing as a husband?”
“What kind of marriage am I modeling for my son?”

Divorce wasn’t an option for us.

So drifting could not be the default.

If I wanted peace at home,
change had to start somewhere.

And it had to start with me.

Then came a moment I will never forget.

I found myself in the middle of the same exhausting argument again.

I knew exactly what I could say.

Something that would cut deep.

But this time, I made a different choice.

That decision, and the ones that followed, changed the direction of our marriage.

The breakthrough wasn't winning the conversation. It was responding differently when tension started building.

That became the foundation of the CALM Method.

In this live workshop, I'll show you how to apply this practical framework so you can stop repeating the arguments that are creating distance in your marriage, feel more connected to your spouse, and experience more peace at home.

I believe your home should be a place of connection, peace, and rest after a long day, not another place you need to recover from.

After more than 16 years of marriage, over a decade leading teams and de-escalating conflict in high-pressure healthcare environments, and my experience walking alongside couples, here's what I discovered:

The problem is often not what you're arguing about.

It's what happens when tension starts building.

But the breakthrough doesn't begin when your spouse changes first.

It begins when you learn how to respond differently in those moments.

That insight shaped the practical strategies I teach today.

Now, I help healthcare professionals in their first 10 years of marriage break exhausting argument cycles and enjoy more connection, understanding, and peace at home.

Alongside mentoring and coaching, I'm a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator and host of the Reconnected Marriage Partners Podcast, equipping couples with practical tools to strengthen communication and deepen their connection in marriage.

"Working with David transformed the way we handle tough conversations. Through his guidance, we’ve learned how to communicate more effectively and embrace the vulnerability needed to be truly transparent with each other. His support and encouragement are invaluable for any couple building a strong foundation."
